Do you have busy mornings? Are you tired, low on energy, and cranky? Don't have to time to do full exercise routines or go to the gym first thing in the morning? Well, today I would like to talk about a quick 3-5 minute total body exercise I do first thing in the morning as soon as I wake up before heading out to the gym and starting my day off.
First things first. Grab yourself an ice cold glass of water (this is another way to jump start your metabolism in the morning).
Secondly, stretch your upper body and lower body muscles. ALWAYS stretch before any workout!
Now we're ready to rock and roll! Are you ready? GO!!!
Step 1. Start off by jogging in place for 60 seconds.
Step 2. Do 10 body weight squats.
Step 3. Drop down and do 10 push ups. (sorry for sounding like a drill instructor...lol)
Step 4. Roll over and do 10 concentrated (slow movement) ab crunches.
Step 5. Do 10 leg raises.
Step 6. Get back up and jog in place for another 60 seconds.
Step 7. Shadow box for 30 seconds.
Do all steps above WITHOUT RESTING. Also, try to do this routine as quickly as you can since this will increase your heart rate and blood flow ("boost your metabolism"). Doing that quick exercise set will help boost your metabolism and get it jump started for the day, and provide you with a ton of energy to get you going for the day!
**Make sure you consult your physician before beginning this or any other fitness routine.**
