ABOUT WOMEN'S HEALTH

Women's health issues often relate to disorders of menstruation - e.g. dysmenorrhea (painful, cramping periods), oligomenorrhea (infrequent periods), amenorrhea (absent periods), menorrhagia (excessively heavy bleeding), and intramenstrual bleeding (bleeding between periods). Uterine fibroids (benign tumors) can produce a variety of symptoms. (A woman's cancers (breast, cervix, ovary) are considered under the Health Topic 'Cancer'. Urinary problems and osteoporosis, although common in women, can also occur in men, and are covered in other Health Centers.)
