Healthy Snack Foods: The Top 20 Diet Snacks

Good morning!

Alright, first things first. Stay away from those "low calorie, low fat diet snacks"! Those types of so called healthy snack foods are processed and are usually made with harmful additives to compensate for the reduction in fat and/or calories.

Stick with healthy snack foods to keep you going through the day and to prevent you from getting urges and ultimately relapsing to bad snack options.

The great thing about healthy diet snacks is that you can eat them as a small meal and not just be considered "healthy snack foods".

If you've been following my blog, you've heard me say a billion times how important it is to eat frequently through out the day to help lose weight and burn fat off efficiently. This is because it will cause a boost in your metabolism.

Well, trying to figure out healthy snack food options to eat through out the day has been made easier for you....

Here are 20 delicious diet snack food ideas:

1. All types of fruits
2. Veggie slices
3. Rice cakes
4. Fat free yogurt
5. Whole grain bagels
6. Fruit salad
7. Handful of raisins (great for a quick boost of energy)
8. Protein shake (add in fruit for added nutrition and to make a small meal!)
9. Whole grain wheat crackers (add healthy toppings such as peanut butter, chicken, or turkey, etc.)
10. Cottage cheese and apple slices or pineapples
11. Light popcorn
12. Handful of pretzels
13. Nuts (especially almonds)
14. Sliced strawberries with fat free yogurt dip (WHOA! Now that's a sinful snack....but healthy!)
15. Whole wheat fig bars
16. Frozen grapes
17. Whole grain english muffin
18. Whole grain bran muffin
19. Celery with peanut butter (an old time favorite!)
20. Cucumbers with vinegar and a little sea salt for seasoning.
