What's Your Favorite Salad?

I remember a time when I could not stand salads! Now, my fridge looks like a vegetable stockpile!

I love to eat all different types of salads. I find that to be very important since eating the same type of normal "garden salad" all the time, can get very boring and turn you off from eating salads. Of course you don't want that to happen since salads are the perfect quick and healthy meal for those dieting and/or trying to maintain their health.

The key is diversification.

There are SO many different types of salads you can make. Exotic, basic, crunchy, meat based, cultural, and so much more! Not only that, you can eat salads at any part of the day, they can be taken with you on the go, to work, etc., and they can be added on to your regular meals!

Here are some of the different types of salads I like:

  • Tuna Salad: Iceberg lettuce, romaine lettuce, red cabbage, carrots, onions, cherry tomatoes, and 1/2 can of albacore tuna in spring water.
  • Grilled Chicken Caesar: Mmmm! A very popular salad and for a good reason....it's freaking delicious! Romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, grilled all white skinless chicken breast (George Forman....need I say more!), and low fat caesar dressing. Since you are dieting, I recommend to hold the other ingredients that are usually added to this salad, which are grated parmesean cheese and croutons.
  • Monster Salad: Iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, red cabbage, carrots, onions, sliced tomatoes, black olives, egg whites, and sliced tangerines.
  • Exotic Shrimp Salad: This is one of those special occasion salads I like to eat. If you haven't tried it before, you don't know what you're missing! Mix fresh shrimp peeled, deveined, and de-tailed, romaine lettuce, finely chopped celery, chopped chives, chopped tarragon, chopped parsley, a little sea salt, and cayenne pepper.
